Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the department of Pathology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of a faculty member, works independently on research projects and supports the general functioning of the Soto Biomedical Research Laboratory, Piscataway Campus of Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, to investigate how cells are polarized during morphogenetic movements using the model organism C. elegans.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Under supervision, performs molecular biology manipulations.
- Assists with microbial strain maintenance and C. elegans strain maintenance.
- Use live imaging techniques to record changes in cell behaviors.
- Use ImageJ and other tools to measure changes in fluorescence.
- Apply statistical analysis to experimental measurements.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics is required as well as previous lab experience.

- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
